Teresa Teng (29 January 1953 – 8 May 1995) was a Chinese singer. She was known for her folk songs and romantic ballads. She recorded songs not only in her native Mandarin Chinese but also in Hokkien, Cantonese, Japanese, Indonesian and English. She also can speak French fluently. Teresa Teng was regarded as one of the "Five Great Asian Divas" during the 1970s and 1980s due to her huge cross-cultural popularity.
